My top affiliate links this week – 9/9/09

Posted by: admin In: Uncategorized

Thought I’d start putting together a list of links for articles that I’ve found useful over the last week or so.

Lammo’s PPC advice for affiliates – A long but really useful post for affiliates looking to enter the PPC space and how not to rack up huge credit card debts

Kevin Edwards discussing the IAB Affiliate Council’s voucher code initiative 6 months on – I’m really proud of what we’ve done in this space and it’s good to see some tangible proof that it has made a difference

Zak from Pwezzybox (sic) on improving their conversion rate – I never tire of telling merchants how important it is to focus, focus, focus on their on site conversion. Here’s some wise words on how it’s been achieved by the ever industry leading team at Prezzybox.

Link building from Lee McCoy (Getvisible) – Solid, no-nonsense advice on generating links for your affiliate sites

Help and advice for a new affiliate from Kirsty – Disgraceful idea for a site and personally I hope it bombs, but some good tips on how to improve your affiliate earnings

Hoseasons not working with cashback or voucher code sites from Rob Barham – Another merchant pulling out of this space.

Expo agenda announced – Some of it looks interesting, some a bit bewildering.

“Parasiteware” debate from Geno Prussakov on econsultancy – US focused and slightly alarmist but some interesting debate going on there

Hope people find this useful, please comment below and let me know or give it a back.

Good selection, and thank you for the mention, Matt.

IMO, the only effective method to address the issue of parasitism in affiliate marketing is by being “alarmist”. As John Kotter justly points out “we are much too complacent” these days. Real and lasting change comes only when a sense of urgency is created by a change agent.

I agree Geno, from a US point of view. However looking at the UK market place, this isn’t as large an issue at the moment, and I emphasise at the moment.

Hi Matt, any recommended articles and posts on finding an affiliate niche? I am an affiliate noob and although I’m experienced in SEO, I have no idea where to start as an affiliate. I’d like to give it a go though!
