Just a quick post to say how I’m looking forward to the networking event on Thursday 29th. This will be the 3rd of these events and they continue to grow in popularity. Whilst we require events such as A4U Expo and A4U Awards to showcase the growing importance and professionalism within the affiliate industry, I find it valuable that we still maintain the informal contact that these events afford. The affiliate industry has grown exponentially over the last 10 years and it is sometimes hard to emphasise the importance that relationships have played in this growth and will continue to play.
In such an entrepreneurial space, the ability to discuss ideas and build relationships with peers, potential customers and suppliers can be overlooked and I’m glad that we have this opportunity. Whilst the event is now fully booked up, I would urge people to attend and engage as much as possible.
A couple of tips:
- have a look through the attendee list beforehand and attempt to make contact with anyone with whom you would be interested in meeting, always easier than having to hunt them out on the night.
- don’t have any qualms about just introducing yourself to people, everyone is there to network after all.
Finally, thank you to all the networks and merchants who contribute sponsorship to make this possible. Particular thanks to Jess at DGM who usually spends the night handing out name badges and making sure everything is running smoothly, and most importantly thanks to Kevin Edwards at Affiliate Window. Kevin always works tirelessly to make these events happen for no personal gain and never gets the credit that he deserves for what is a thankless task.
Look forward to seeing everyone there on the 29th.
